The Naturals book review:

I don't usually read spy books even though I really enjoy mysteries and action books. This was nothing like I thought it was going to be like because on the back it said something about romance so I thought it was going to be a really girly romantic book however there was much more action and mystery then there was romance. Also, it was a bit bloody so if you don't like that sort of thing I wouldn't recommend it.
   The plot is basically that there are people in the world with special talents like some people are human lie detectors , others can put people in a certain category and others can read other people's emotions and movements. I thought this part of the book was really cool when you found out who could do what and all the different types of skills. All these people with their skills are offered a place in a F.B.I program called The Naturals. They can leave this program any time they want however they can't tell anyone. Also, to develop  their skills they look at solved cases to see how they handle the situation and how they can improve.Then a serial killer starts to kill in the same area as The Naturals HQ. They need to find out who the murderer is before one of them gets killed. Towards the end of the book I sort of just left my family just so I could finish it. They were all in the living room while I was in my room reading the last couple of chapters with a cup of tea. So sorry about that family.
   This book has actually got into my top 10 favourite books which as anyone who knows me knows is quite hard. I'll make my next post about my top 10 favourite books because if you're like me and really noisey then you will want to know what they are.

Now it's time for author facts. Jennifer Lynn Barnes was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1984. She graduated from Yale University with a degree in cognitive science. Afterwards, she returned to the states to work hard on her PhD

Hollow Earth book review:

Not many people will have heard of this book however this is one of my favorites. As you know if you read my blog, I had to go to my local library to get a book for homework and I saw this book. I'd already read it but I hadn't seen it since so I was really excited to see it. When I had finished the book for my homework I got this book straight away. When I first read it I couldn't believe 2 things I love came together. Basically, I am a huge fan of Doctor Who and John Barrowman plays a character called Captain Jack. If you're wondering what he has to do with this book John Barrowman and his sister Carole Barrowman wrote this book together. I was really happy to see one of my favourite books was related to my favourite show.
   This story is about twins called Matt and Em Calder that have a special ability. When they draw they can make their come to life in the real world. The only way to get rid of this drawing is to tear the drawing up or the thing you drew gets to far away from the thing you drew it on. It makes much more sense when you read the book. They are looked after by their mum in London and she says that their dad abandoned them when they were young. They know that she's lying because of their other talents. They are half animare and half guardian. This means they can  read emotions and read body language. In the place this book was sent the guardians job is to look after the animare. Matt and Em are the first people to be part animare and part guardian. Only a few days ago I found out that this wasn't a single book but it was actually a trilogy. I can't wait to read the rest of the books and I asked for them for my birthday.
   I would fully recommend this book and as you can tell I really love this book. If you want to read these books then please do because I love them and I'm sure you will to.

Series of Unfortunate Event book review: The End:

If you usally read my blog then you will know that I have been reading a Series of of Unfortunate Events and I have finally got to the last book. I have been looking forward to finishing these books and I can't believe I have finally finished them. I have to say that the ending of this series didn't disappoint me at all. Towards the end of this book it got really exiting and it left me with a few questions. For instance what happened with their fortune? And what did they do about the police after them and finally how did they look after that child? I won't explain why I asked myself these questions so I don't ruin the end of this series especially if you haven't even started this series.
   I don't know why but I got a bit sad when I finished the book series because it meant that I had finally finished the series and I could never read it again with the thrill of wondering what was going to happen next. I don't know if this sounds sad or a bit like a bookaholic speaking. If you love books a lot please tell me in the comments if you feel a bit sad after you've finished a series or just a really good book and feel a bit sad afterwards. Every time I finish a book and I enjoyed it afterwards I always take a deep breath out and look at my bookshelf wondering what I should read next.
   Anyway I got a bit side tracked their. Whenever I start writing (or typing whatever) I always go off on some sort on tangent. And I'm doing it again. I seem to be doing it a lot lately. Right now I should actually start writing about the book.

   This was such a great ending to this series. At the start of the end (I hope you know what I mean at this point) it was really getting tense and then in the last 20 pages or so it sort of relaxed a bit and  I thought this was really effective because the rest of the books endings where really thrilling when they had to use their combined knowledge to try and escape Count Olaf or even better get him caught. Then there's this book that sort of eased you out of the series in a really nice way. It sort of showed how things where carming down for the Baudelaires even if it wasn't then happy ending they wanted or the readers wanted however I loved it still. 

   I would fully recommend this series and any other books this author has wrote. As, you can tell by this post and all the other ones I really enjoyed this series and it ha to be up there with my favourite books. And as my friends and family knows, that is really hard to get in my top 10 favorite books. So thank you for the amazing books Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) you will probably never read this but I loved your books so much.

Series of Unfortunate events book review:The Grim Grotto and The Penultimate Peril:

So sorry that I haven't post anything in a long time I just kept forgetting. Because I haven't posted anything in a while I have read a lot books to write about. So for this week and for this week only you will get a post every couple of days. Anyway back to the books:

The Grim Grotto:

As you all know, I love this series of books and I hope you do too. In this book three children are on the run from the police for a crime they didn't commit. Also, the person who did commit them (Count Olaf) is chasing after them where ever they go for their enormous fortune that their parents left them when they died. This chase takes them up to the top of the mountain and they start to fall down a river that leads down the mountain and into the sea.
   When they think they are going to die they see something sticking out the water and they identify it as part of a submarine. Thee captain of this submarine lets them in and they are now crew members. They learn that the captain of the submarine also is an enemy of Count Olaf and is looking for something that Count Olaf wants so it won't fall into the wrong hands. They decide to work together to find this item before Olaf does.
   Hopefully, this sounds like a book you might like because I honestly do and I thought it was one of the best ones in the whole series.

The Penultimate Peril:

This book got me really excited because it the second to last book and when there's 13 books in a series you are going to get excited near the end. The plot in this book is the three Baudelaires are employed by a secret organisation (V.F.D)  that Olaf used to work for. If your wondering why the Baudelaires are working for the same organisation as Olaf used to then I'll answer for you. Years before the Baudelaire children were born, a secret organisation called (V.F.G) split in two. The good people and the bad people.
   They are told to work at a hotel and work out who are the good and bad people that used to work for V.F.G. Also, they are told that this Thursday that a person will find friends of theirs that had to run away from Count Olaf and bring them to the hotel unless they give them a sign that the hotel isn't safe. They are set to work at the hotel straight away and are set little task they have to do by the guests and while doing these tasks they have to work out who is good and bad.
   At the end of this book they somehow end up on a boat with Count Olaf. This book I thought was a great second to last book because it really built up the tension.

My top 4 series of books:

As you all may know I love a good series of books so I thought I might share with you lot my top 4 favourite.

4) Narnia. Ok you all have to admit that as kids you all wish you found a world at the back of your wardrobe and this is where it started from. The only thing that bugs me about this is that when they made a film about it they only used a few of the books and not all of them. Not even like the first 5 no they only made films out of the 2nd, 4th,5th and 6th. It's like they just picked a random number. Apart from that they were great books. I thought I was going to get bored of them in a few days time because of how old they were but I didn't. It surprised me and I got sucked into the vortex of the Narnia series.

 3) Next is an Series of Unfortunate Events. If you read my blog you'll know that I am reviewing these books and have nearly finished them. I haven't got round to finishing them yet however so far I am loving it. I know they are meant to be for kids/teenagers however I love mystery books and this hit the spot. It's sometimes over the top but you have got to love the cheesy goodness.

2) Then there's Percy Jackson. Firstly, if you haven't heard of these books where have you been. I have to sadly say I watched the film before the books and I fell in love with it. Then as a surprise for my birthday my family got them for me and I was over the moon. I don't know why but I love Greek mythology and I practically know everything there is to know about the Greek Gods. So when a bit of mystery, Greek mythology and action is involved I'm there.

1) Last  but definitely not least is the Inkheart trilogy. This in my opinion is the BEST trilogy of books ever. I know it's not technically an series however I couldn't resist putting it on the list. This book is about a few people that when they read they came bring the characters out of the pages however few are talented enough to bring a character out without someone from their world getting sucked in. This book is filled with action, adventure and murder. It may sound like it's full of blood guts and all that however it's not as blood filled as it sounds. I have only read this trilogy once and they are the best books I have ever read.
