Heroes of Olympus: The House of Hades book review:

I didn't realise how much I loved Rick's little jokes until I saw the note he made at the start of this one. In the last post I told you about how there was a really good/bad ending. Well Rick must have felt like an evil mastermind because:

This really made me laugh when I first saw it and it started the in a funny way.
One character I do feel sorry for is Leo. Everyone else on the Argo II has a girlfriend/boyfriend however as there are seven of them on the boat Leo doesn't. I'm not saying that you need a girlfriend or boyfriend to be happy however everyone else goes off with their other half while is Leo is left with Coach Hedge who always talks about killing and who also has a girlfriend of his own. Also, Leo always finds a way to blame himself for everything bad that happens. Even when it's the smallest thing that he could have done he'll blame himself for everything. The worst part is that he has nobody to talk to. Everyone sort goes off in pairs and forgets that Leo might need someone too.
One thing I did love about this book in the new settings. (If you haven't read the books before this yet then skip this paragraph to miss the spoiler.) Since no demigods have been to Tartarus we've never had a description of the place. However, now Percy and Annabeth are there we finally know what it's like there. Also, because of Percy being there you can guarantee that there are going to be some laughs. The fact that a demigods is in the worst part of the underworld where even Hades can't go and he made another demigod laugh should be a near impossible thing to do. Yet with is being Percy he still does it.

I love the idea of different narrators as this helps both sides of the story progress when the characters get split up. This also create cliffhangers when the narrator changes which keeps me really interested in the books.

Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next post.

Heroes of Olympus: The Mark of Athena book review:

I have a real love hate relationship with this book. It's brilliant in every aspect apart from the ending. If you ask anyone I know they will tell you I don't cry very often and it's usually over big things. However, I still cried at the ending of this book. I won't tell you any more about the ending and this isn't a spoiler because anything could happen and it's not necessary a sad thing that happens. It was a really great ending though.
But anyway, this one was really different to the other two books. You still learnt about the characters but you learn as they face problems and figure out problems with each other. This was great as it kept the plot going as you learned about all the characters backstories.
Also, I like the fact that some of the monsters they faced came back to get them because that has never happened before. It also made it more realistic a because if demigods were real that would happen a lot.

I can't wait to read the last two books and this and Percy Jackson really are my favourite series.

Thanks for reading and I'll you next post.
