Someone Else's Life book review:

I don't usually go for these sort of books but me and my friend had this deal. If she reads my favourite book then I would read hers. So I made her read Percy Jackson and I'm reading this. May I just add she didn't actually all of Percy Jackson so shame on you Marty. I was quite happy with the book but again I don't usually read this sort of thing. It was good but I wouldn't read it again.

It is a very interesting book and it keeps you sucked into the book. When I started to read it, it was near the time of my exams so I didn't read as fast as usual but I still read quite a lot of it very soon. I just got stuck in the book and a few hours just passed. You really get invested in the characters through all the events, happy and sad, that happen. By the end of the book, you really care about the characters and what happens to them because you see them go through so much. This book has one of my favourite features. More than one viewpoint. It leaves the reader glued to the book waiting for the other character's story to develop and vice versa. It did annoy me that everytime something happened that the author switched viewpoints. As soon as you got really interested in one character they switched it to the other. Each chapter started with a big event and ended before the reveal of another. It was good at the start of the book however by the end I just wanted to know what was going to happen. The only other thing that I didn't like about this book, it was a bit manic depressive. It was almost like a trainwreck after a trainwreck after trainwreck.
My favourite characters have to Rosie and Holly just for the reason that you get so invested in them. You care about the other characters so much it's just that you see everything that happens through both of their viewpoints. Also, it was fun to see what the other thinks in the same situation when the author switched the views.
I may have said a few bads things about this book but overall I did enjoy it and would recommend it to people who like this sort of thing. However, it wasn't my sort of thing and I wouldn't read it again even though I enjoyed the experience.

Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next post.

My Birthday:

I've had my birthday in the last week and I just wanted to show you lot what I got.I won't show you all of them just my favourite ones:
1) Batman and Doctor Who posters-If you read this blog you will probably know that I am a MASSIVE geek. I've loved Doctor Who since the eighth doctor and have started watching the first doctor. Also, Batman is my favourite DC character even if I'm a Marvel girl. He's just such a cool character. I don't care that most of his superpower is from his money you have to love the badassery of his character.

2) Pierce the Veil and Twenty One Pilots merch- I changed my taste in music a couple of years ago so I didn't have anything like albums or band merch and now I have! If you go back to my list of favourite bands these were pretty high on the list and the tops look so good. My dance friends have the same taste as me and love the tops. I also got their new albums Blurryface and Misadventures. I'm not going to lie these were my favourite presents and I've already listened to both albums at least three times each.

 3) Books- As I said in a lot of my past post, I love Percy Jackson and I'll do a book review on Rick Riordan's new book (Trials of Apollo) as soon as I got it. Well that post is now closer as I've got it. I also got a book from one of other favourite authors. John and Carole E Barrowman.

4) Food- All I'm going to say here is chocolate and donuts.

5) Lastly, my T.A.R.D.I.S memory stick. I've already said that I love Doctor Who. The fact that I can say it's bigger on the inside and that being true makes me laugh.

Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post.

Heroes of Olympus: The Demigod Diaries:

As you will probably know if read my blog I'm obsessed with everything to do with Percy Jackson. Then I my family got me this book which is full of short stories before the Heroes of Olympus series took place. There are mainly four short stories so I'm going to divide them into two post.

Diary of Luke Castellan:

This one was really cool because it told you more of a backstory of what happened to Luke, Thalia and Annabeth before they got to Camp Half-Blood. Which is something I have been wondering since Annabeth mentioned it in the Percy Jackson series. Also, you got a backstory to how Thalia got Aegis and at what cost. Aegis was one of my favourite weapons in these series because it just struck me as the most practical weapon and one I wouldn't mind having. Percy has to uncap a pen, Jason has to flip a coin but Thalia just has to say the name of her shield and she has it ready in her hand.Lastly, you get to know why Luke hated the Gods so much. I really didn't like Luke's character because he was of course the bad guy that betrayed his friends for power. But in the short story you get to see the reasons why he hated the Gods and to be fair he had a point. I thought the shot stories were just going to be what happened after Percy Jackson and before Heroes of Olympus. I never thought they would tell you more things about the characters and why they became who they are.

Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes:

This one is one the funnier stories with plenty of funny comments from Percy. I know I mention funny comments a lot but I love a book that can make me laugh. It's one of the things I always find in my favourite books. In this one you can really see the rivalry between Annabeth and Hermes. Which is not a thing I thought I was going to say considering it's a rivalry between a God and a demigod but it's true there is a rivalry there. Also, I love the characters George and Martha they make me laugh every time they appear in the books. Sadly, they don't appear very often as they are always with Hermes and I think they were only in the Percy Jackson books once. So it was nice to see them even though I probably won't see them any time soon.

Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next post.
