Favourite Bands:

Music is a big part of my life. I literally can't go a day without music and I listen to music while I write these posts in fact. So I thought I would tell some of my favourite bands. This way you get to know a little more about me and I'm not just a website with no emotions to you. If you follow me on pinterest (I'm not trying to make you follow by the way) then you'll know some of my favourite bands already. I'm going to limit myself to ten bands but I could easily make a list of well over 30.

10) My Chemical Romance- this is one of the bands I can just put on shuffle and don't know all the words but the ones I do I sing my heart out. I know about ten of their songs by heart but I love listening to them in general. My sister introduced them to me and a lot of other bands on this list. To be fair she introduced nearly all the bands on this list. Favourite song of theirs has to be Famous Last Words.

9) 5 Seconds of Summer- these are my guilty pleasure. Not many consider them in the pop punk however in my opinion they are the most pop you can get in the pop punk genre without being pop. My family were really confused when they saw them in my Kerrang! magazine and didn't think I would like them but I really do.

8) Sleeping With Sirens- I only know a few of their songs and I love them to bits. Most people think that if your favorite song is King For A Day then you're a fake fan but I love that song. Of course I like their other songs so I don't see how that make me a fake fan but hey I still love them.

7) All Time Low- the way I got into is different to way people usually get into bands. I heard some of their new stuff and liked it so I put the artist on shuffle and realised I knew their old stuff as well because of my sister. So after listening to their new songs without knowing I knew most of their music.

6) Paramore- I love this band in general but my favourite album of theirs has to be Riot! Again my sister introduced me to these and my friend is going to see them in concert and I really want to go.

5) Fall Out Boy- I do like their older stuff better however I still like their newer stuff. One of my friends said the same as me and said she was sad she would never see the old Fall Out Boy live.

4) Pierce The Veil- this one was so close to be being third but I have to say I love the top three slightly more then these. Whenever I talk to my dad about them I call them the screaming Mexicans and he actually knows who I'm talking about.

3) Panic! At The Disco- most people have heard of at least one of their song even if you don't listen to any form of rock. All my friends with the same music taste as me love them as much as I do and my favourite album of theirs has to be A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.

2) Twenty One Pilots- I recently started to listen to these and I became a tiny bit obsessed. I had a pop punk playlist on and then Ride came on. I made my dad listen to the start of it and he said they sounded a bit reggae. Which made me laugh so hard.

1) State Champs- these aren't really a widely known band however I listened to Around The World And Back (album) and put the artist on shuffle. I now own all their music and am yet to find a song of theirs I don't like.

So these are some of my favourite bands. I thought it would make a nice change to but something I like other then books on this blog.

The Monogram Murder book review:

I chose to read this book as at the time I bought it I was really into murder mysteries and thought it would be very fitting to read on of Agatha Cristie's most famous books and then one inspired by her characters.
   While reading this book, I thought there were many alternative titles that were also quite pleasing like one of the chapter titles: 'If Murder Began with a D'. However, this is only used at the end of the book whereas Monogram Murders is clear from the first few chapters and continues to the end. The alliteration is also a quite pleasing part of the title. Throughout the book, you could barely tell it was a different author. The differences were so light that I couldn't tell you know but as I was reading reminded me. In all fairness, the differences were very few and there were bound to be differences as an author's characters may as well be their children. The fact there were only slight differences shows the understanding Sophie Hannah had of Agatha Cristie's characters and she did better than I imagine anyone else could.
   At some parts in the book I almost disliked Poirot. However, I'm not sure if this was because I sided with the narrator who wanted to know what Poirot was thinking. One thing that was the exact same was the twist and reveal of how the murder was committed. I couldn't put the book down and was forced to stop reading with three pages left to do a job. Although I was desperate to read the book, the anticipation made the ending so much better.
   Overall, I loved this book and it's an almost seamless addition to the Agatha Cristie's Poirot series. Again I won't reveal anything about the ending or the twist but you should defiantly read this book if you like murder mysteries.

Murder on the Orient Express book review:

Although I love murder mysteries and classic books, I have never read an Agatha Cristie book. Recently, I've had more spare time than usual so I finally got round to reading one. I thought it would be best if I dived in at the deep end and go for properly her most famous book, Murder on the Orient Express.
   I'm going to be very blunt: I loved it. As I said before, I love murder mysteries from both books and films and this book was no exception. The best thing about this book for me was oddly how it was arranged. There are three parts: the murder, collecting the evidence and solving the murder. This arrangement was very methodical and reflected the main character Poirot with his need for everything to be neat and in order. Also, although Poirot is Belgium, there's one sentence in this book that was very stereotypically British and made me grin as I read it: 'His polite pardons' were uttered with the regularity of clockwise.' This line happens as Poirot walks down a train corridor and just the image of this in my head made me grin as I read. I may also be stealing this line in my own writing.
   I can see why this is one of her most famous books as the ending was a true plot twist. I obviously won't spoil anything but even for someone who loves murder mysteries and has read a lot of them, this twist was unexpected. I'm so glad that even though this book is very famous, I've never heard the ending and had no part ruined for me. So I compel anyone who loves murder mysteries to read this book as soon as possible because it's quickly becoming one of my favourite books.

Little Women book review:

As you all know, I love classics and this has got to be one of the most famous classics. This was a present to me from my sister for my birthday and I only just got round to reading it. 

   At first I thought it was going to be really slow with not much happening however I was proven wrong. You get to know the characters and really start to care for them. My favourite character has to be Jo because she is what I pictured myself to be when I was older. it's strange how relatable the characters are even though it was written so long ago in a extremely different circumstances. To me that's what makes this book so good. You can still relate to it in one way or another. Also, a character I think everyone will love is Teddy. He's so funny at time which isn't what I expected from such an old book. 

   I usually show you the cover however it was ruined. However the back is not as bad as the front so just so you can see the pattern on it here's the back of the book. Which is weird to type when I'm used to the saying the cover.

   I would fully recommend this book to anyone who likes classics however if you don't then this won't be for you. It is focused on the problems of their day which are (of course) different to ours. For example it has problems to do with the war which thankfully not many people can related to in the modern day. On a lighter note, this book had one of those built in bookmarks which i love sooo much. Also, the pattern was really nice. I know they say don't judge a book by it's cove but it was a bonus.

Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales: The Money-Pig:

This story so far has been the only one I didn't like out of all the Hans Christian Andersen stories that I've read. I couldn't really tell what the plot was which is rare for his stories. The plot is usually easy to get a grip on even with the use of the old fashioned language. Also, there wasn't really a meaning or morale behind it like the others had. The only morale I could get from the story is that you can be replaced which is not a good morale at all.  I'm surprised that I didn't like this story because I've loved all of them so far and if you read my blog often I don't give many negative reviews. Other people might love this story however I just didn't like it. Especially compared to the other stories. 

   The one thing I love in each story is the little picture at the start of them. They give you a small bit to picture in your head. Most of the time I like to picture things for myself however because these are short stories it's good to get something to picture as you're not with the characters long. 

I hope the stories get better again and they haven't put all the good ones at the start and left the rest. This has been a shorter post than usual but I didn't have many things to say about this story so sorry.
