All these stories are based in the second world war and this one is about a typist called Miss Brown that gets sucked into a world full of spies, romance and politics. The basic plot without ruining anything is that Miss Brown gets lost in the fog one day in London and ends up on the doorstep of a famous explorer. However the famous explorer is also a wanted man by evil (sounds like a fairy-tale character but I couldn't think of the right words) spies from other countries. He has documents that could bring the end to the entire order of other countries and start another world war. This may not sound like your cup of tea for some people however if you ever get the chance to read it I'd take it because you'll probably never see the book again. Also, there are little snippets of humour in it that reminds me a bit of Downingtown Abbey. It's old humour that can still make you laugh today even if that's hard to believe.
I did a bit of research about the author of this book and he is really famous in his day. As soon as I typed the E.Phillips in it came up with his full name straight away (which is Edward Phillips Oppenheim if you were wondering). He is an English novelist and some of his books have been so popular they made them into films. He was born 1866 and died 1946. That's it for the history lesson and I hoped you enjoyed that little bit of knowledge.
Thanks for reading and comments if you have any books you would like me to do a book review on or any blog post ideas. Also, comment if you would like my to do a bit of research of all the books I read so you can find out a bit about the author and other books they have wrote.
