The Great Gatsby:

As you would know if you read my blog, I love to read old classics. Also, I got The Great Gatsby last Christmas and thought it was best to read it before this Christmas as I asked for even more books. This book was nothing like I thought it was going to be like. For example I thought the book was going to be narrated by Gatsby himself however it wasn't and you don't even meet Gatsby until a couple of chapters in. It's actually narrated by a man called Nick Carraway. This person is the next door neighbour to Gatsby and gets invited to one of his parties. However, Gatsby doesn't really show his face at the party and Nick wants to thank him for inviting him.  So spends the entire party trying to find him and learns a bit about him from the other guests. Also, I thought the book was just going to be about a load of social events. It's actually a really short book however it's full of different events. The ending was nothing like I expected but I won't tell you anything about the end so I don't ruin it.

Francis Scott Fitzgerald is an american writer and was born on 24th September 1896. He was married to Zelda Fitzgerald and had one child called Frances Scott Fitzgerald.  He died December 21st 1940 at the age of 44.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who like the roaring twenties. However it is quite short book so don't take it on holiday with you. But it's still a brilliant book.

That's the end of this post and if you have any books you want me to read or any posts you want me to do then please put them in the comments and I'll get round to them as soon as I can.
